“On The Move” at the
Fire Science Academy

Recent Promotions:
Val Esplin – Val Esplin, a fixture in the FSA maintenance department, recently accepted the position of Facility Supervisor III at the Fire Science Academy. This is a promotion for Val.
Beau Alanis – Beau, a very familiar face on our training field, was recently promoted to Safety Specialist I.
Jason Adams – Jason, another stalwart on the training field, was recently promoted to Safety Specialist I.

New Hires:
Natacia Eldridge – Natacia has joined the staff of the Fire Science Academy as an Administrative Assistant I, and will be working with the Registrar’s office.
Clint LeSueur – Clint has joined the staff of the Fire Science Academy as an Accountant Technician II. Clint will be working with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable at the Carlin campus.
Diviesh Bhakta – Diviesh has recently joined the staff of the Fire Science Academy as an Administrative Assistant I and will be working with the Purchasing/Receiving department and will work in the FSA Gift Shop.
Kathy Goicoechea – Kathy has joined the staff of the Fire Science Academy as a Wastewater Treatment Operator I. Kathy will be working with the Facilities Maintenance department.
Yohon Heimer – Yohon has joined the staff of the Fire Science Academy as a Maintenance Repair Aid III. Yohon will be working with the FSA training field operations and Safety department.
Angel Aguirre – Angel has joined the staff of the Fire Science Academy as a Maintenance Repair Aid III. Angel will be working with the FSA training field operations and Safety department.
LaNae Van Tassel – LaNae has joined the staff of the Fire Science Academy as a Custodial Worker I. LaNae will be working with the Facilities Maintenance department.

The Fire Science Academy
Welcomes School Tours

From time to time throughout the year, the Fire Science Academy has the privilege of hosting students from the local school districts for a field trip.  Over the last two weeks, school groups from West Wendover, Carlin, and Elko and been on campus.  While here, they have the chance to tour the campus, try on bunker gear used by firefighters during their training, and to observe the live training taking place on the training field.  To arrange a tour for your group, please give us a call at (775) 754-6003.  Tours are available throughout the year

Web Registration
Web registration is available for many of FSA’s open enrollment courses. To view courses, click on the training programs menu above or click here for upcoming courses available for web registration with credit card payment. Choose your course and look for the “click here to register” link. Follow the prompts to check out and establish your secure, online enrollment.

Courses that do not include the “click here to register” link are not available for web registration at this time. Please call (775) 754-6003 to register for these courses or for assistance with web registration. Check back for more online registration options and information.

Important Note: Course enrollment is reviewed 21 days prior to the start of a course.  The FSA recommends that students NOT make travel or lodging arrangements until they have contacted the Registrar's office regarding  status of the course(s) in which they are enrolled.
